Great Pyrenees - Sabian - Extra Large - Adult - Male - Dog
Sabian is around 3 years old and is a gentle giant. The volunteers absolutely LOVE him. It took several months and several different agencies and people to catch this handsome boy. Sabian does have BBs in his ear and hip as proof of the cruelty of people in our area. Besides loving people, he is a ladies man and has fathered a few litters of pups. Because he is used to wondering around the country side, he MUST HAVE a secure place to be able to get exercise. It isn't enough to just have him in a fence as we learned the hard way. Sabian almost broke down our old privacy fence by throwing himself against it and trying to climb it to get out. We had to CARRY him to a fenced kennel with a roof for evening and for times when we are not there. If you are with him and he can see you, he will not climb or jump the fence. Once he gets away from people, he is extremely hard to catch. Oh he will let you pet him, but bring out the leash or harness and he bolts. That is why it took so long to get him into a shelter. He does not walk on a leash or harness. This special boy is in search of that very special place to call home.
